You spend years trying to convince the rest of the world that London is thriving modern metropolis and that we don’t all just sit around the ol’ johanna, eating jellied eels and singing music hall tunes and then along comes Carradine’s Cockney Sing-a-long to take us back to square one. It’s a fun square one thought, to be fair. Tom Carradine leads crowd both young and old through a traditional East End sing-a-long, including songs from the Music Hall era, WWI and II, and the West End stage. There’s more singing than at karaoke, more boozing than at the opera and the whole thing takes place in the gorgeous setting of Wilton’s.
