It was the phrase ‘pop-up prison’ that had us intrigued. And then we delved deeper into the description of An Execution (by invitation only) and we got even more excited. Presented by Gemma Brockis (who used to run Shunt which is big tick for us), based on the work of Nabokov (the master) and staged at the excellent Camden People’s Theatre, this sounds wonderful. Following the last hours of a condemned man, this second run of the play is, according to people who’ve seen it ‘dramatic, thought-provoking and surprisingly funny’.
