London’s best looking open-air cinema is back and it’s a line-up up won’t want to miss. Set in the serene courtyard of Somerset House, Film4 Summer Screen’s 2018 theme is ‘dreams, fantasies, nocturnes and reveries,’ with a programme that features double-bill nights and red-carpet premieres of new releases like ‘American Animals’ and ‘The Wife’, which Glenn Close herself will be introducing. As well as blockbusters such as ‘Call Me By Your Name,’ ‘Carol’ and ‘Selma,’ expect pre-film DJ sets and Behind the Screen, a series of talks by film industry insider figures. Little White Lies will also run a residency of hands-on workshops on the art of films and for the final week of the season, visitors can discover the processes behind the creation of the eminent movie magazine. Come early to make the most of Film4 Summer Screen’s delights and sate your hunger on everything from artisan sourdough pizzas to showstopper nachos. Movie bliss.
