Like your food fast, fun and meat free? Head over to Farringdon from Wednesday, when Modern American foodie outfit Flipside will be launching its new plant-based grab-and-go concept, in the shadow of the historic meat market at Smithfields. Featuring fries, sides, thick malt milkshakes and ice-cold beers, they’ll be majoring in everything a junk food fan could dream of, minus the meat.
Flipside takes its cues from the classic diner experience, and will serve quick bites for breakfast and lunch followed by laid-back evening meals. Breakfasts include chickpea scramble boxes, mocha morning oats, sourdough donuts and more, while lunch features over 30 salad and sandwich options – a positively dizzying degree of choice for the herbivores among us. There’ll also be a ‘Mac Bar’ where you can customise your mac & cheese with all manner of tasty toppings.
Evenings will be all about the burgers, with the elusive ‘Beyond Burger’ taking centre stage, supported by the ‘Who Ya Callin’ Chicken’ Burger, and the ‘Flipside Quarter Pounder’ and a medley of fake meat treats to blow your carnivorous cravings into oblivion.
Flipside is also the latest London venue to go completely cashless, so this looks to be fast food in every sense, promising a slick and ‘lightning fast’ experience for us time-poor Londoners. We’ll be bringing our contactless devices and rumbling tums along to the launch.
