How much?

The BFI’s Scorsese season is reintroducing us to some of Marty’s lesser known works – and this is a prime example. His biography of George Harrison is as wonderful as you’d expect on the ex-Beatle’s music – this is a director with a great ear as well as eye. But it’s much more than a portrait of Harrison’s music – it deals with the other great obsession of Scorsese’s film-making – spirituality. He delves into Harrison’s immersion into eastern mysticism and his life of quiet contemplation and provides a deep and moving study of a complex man.
