What d’you mean you’re not ready for the International Day of the Gibbon? Haven’t you oredered your Gibbon Day cards? Bought your Gibbon Day presents? Well the Grant Museum of Zoology has got two frankly mad sounding events to get the day off with a bang. Firstly yoga teacher Sarah Perry will teach a class in which the gibbon’s unique set of movements inform exercises and poses to ‘unleash your inner anthropoid’. Then writer and artist Richard Frost, in one of the most unlikely sentences we’ve seen this week,’examines how the hauntingly beautiful singing voices and balletic, arm-swinging form of locomotion used by gibbons have inspired art and literature.’ It all sounds, frckly, unmissable.
