An impressive roster of talent will be gracing the stages of the Southbank Centre at this year’s London Literature Festival, for twenty days of waxing lyrical about all things books.
Hillary Clinton will discuss What Happened, her new autobiographical account of running for US presidency in 2016 and subsequently losing to a reality TV star named Donald Trump. Another visitor from across the pond to look out for is Tom Hanks, who will be discussing his first collection of short stories: Uncommon Type.
A highlight showcasing British talent will be a cast of actors – including Adrian Lester and Adjoa Andoh – bringing Nelson Mandela’s long-awaited memoir reflecting on his presidential years to life.
This year sees an extended edition of the festival, looking at how literature and poetry can “remind us of our shared humanity in a world on the brink”.
