We’ve not had a chance to flag up any of these Mark Kermode in 3D things at the BFI simply because they sell out so bloody fast and we hate recommending things that you might not be able to get in and see but it looks like this week’s version (for some reason renamed as ‘in 4D) still has a ticket or two free. The format is pretty simple. Kermode chooses a bunch of clips and a main film, plays stuff he likes and guilty pleasures, and talks about all of them. It’s this chat that’s at the heart of the experience. He’s an engaging, enthusiastic presenter with a real knack for combining bloke-down-the-pub friendliness with art-critic insight.
