It’s simply not possible to overstate the influence of David Rodigan and Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry on British musical culture. Without the former it’s possible that roots, reggae and dub would never have found it’s way onto British airwaves. Without the latter, it’s possible that roots, reggae and dub wouldn’t really exist. There was a slight hint five years ago that Mr Perry had completely lost the plot with the release of the incomprehensible ‘Pum Pum’ (it’s actually even worse than it sounds), but thankfully, he is back to doing what he does best (that is riffling through a back catalogue of records more extensive than nearly any other living producer). These two heavyweights will be joined by some younger selectors, plus a live performance from dub group, The Resonators. Full disclosure; anyone who requests ‘Pum Pum’ will be ejected immediately. /Sam Frankl
