Calling all Audio Visual aficionados and Video Jockey devotees. It’s time to enter pulsing immersions of sonic and optical landscapes at Splice Festival. An ode to the art and the culture, this is a four-day festival from 10 – 13 May at RichMix and Stour Space. Opening with an AV Link Jam from Crux (Bring Your Own Beamer), the programme features exciting performances such as Kimatica Studio’s Transcendence featuring laser creatures, Reeps One and Zach Walker’s cymatic-beatboxer mashup, a new show from electronic act Petwo Evans – doyens of salvaged sound and ‘Welsh futurism’, and a whole lot more.
There are also talks and workshops from the pros so you can learn extra tricks. Including a sharing of Immersive Pipeline’s research on the future of immersive experiences, stage designers Lumbic Cinema (so impressive at last year’s Glasto for The Common), and Hype Williams-collaborator video designer Weirdcore. Get stuck into the workshops with video mixing software EboSuite, create sound using code (Algorave anyone? Definitely.) and mucho more.
This year there’s also family-friendly programming on Sunday, courtesy of the School of Noise and a live re-score in Moomin Valley.
All rather exciting wouldn’t you agree?
