This week Strazzanti will host the first in a series of Sicilian inspired supperclubs in the barns of Hackney City Farm.
The hosts, Strazzanti sisters Emilia, Nina and Sofia are collaborating with the farm’s café, Frizzante, to combine Sicilian home cooking with East London local produce; with bread from E5 Bakehouse, vegetables from Dagenham Farm and a welcome cocktail from Hackney’s own Our London Vodka.
In true Sicilian style, the four course menu is deliciously plant-based – spinach and mozzarella arancini, fresh ricotta on sourdough, roasted peppers, grilled courgette and, of course, homemade pasta (with aubergines and ricotta). For dessert there are Strazzanti’s signature pastries and cakes to look forward to. The cherry on top? 10% of the proceeds go to the farm, back into the local community.
The setting will be decked out with candles, flowers and foliage, bringing a slice of Sicilian magic to East London for the evening.
