Ever attempted to casually whip up a fancy cocktail at home, only to realise that simply splashing all your most unpronounceable liquors together in a cocktail shaker and chucking it around aggressively with ice does not equate to a delicious beverage? Well suffer these inglorious miseries no more–The Summer Cocktail Shake-down at cosy Soho speakeasy Company Below is here to help.
Running every Tuesday evening throughout August, each week features a masterclass run by renowned bartenders from some of the capital’s coolest drinking dens. Under their expert guidance, you’ll learn how to knock up a truly unique creation, while sipping on cocktails (naturally) and munching moreish snacks from upstairs restaurant Balls & Company, including bao buns, savoury churros and arancini, and brown butter pecan ice cream.
Tuesday 8th August sees Gabriele Manfredi, head bartender at Oriole in Smithfield Market, taking attendees on a voyage of unique flavours from far-flung places. Next up is Jay Doy from The Blind Pig, who’ll be throwing together a ‘Lost and Found’, made with Pisco, triple sec, toast and marmalade syrup. Rounding off the series, Company Below’s own Joshua Metzner will show guests how to master the ‘Feel Good Inc.’, a luscious botanical libation including egg whites and a dusting of bamboo charcoal.
With classes priced at £15 per person, including two cocktails and 50% off snacks, this is one educational investment that delivers instantly delectable returns.
