East London’s most bookish basement bar will be paying homage this weekend to the pop phenomenon that brought us Vogue, Like a Prayer, Express Yourself and many more perfect pop mega hits throughout the 80s, 90s and beyond.
The Madonna-themed club night will also be your last opportunity to catch retro DJs Vice City before they go into hibernation for the rest of the year, and it promises to be a real fan-pleaser. Organisers have made an audacious promise to play ‘every last one’ of the hits in the Material Girl’s extensive back-catalogue, so we can only assume they’ll be revisiting the lows as well as the highs, including Dear Jessie, Going Bananas and that one where she rapped about a latte.
The Madonna madness will be served up alongside the Book Club’s usual menu of inventive cocktails and followed up by a selection of classic hits from the era, so prepare to get up on the dancefloor, strike a pose and let your body move to the music. Tickets here.
