Hip restaurants spring up more often than a footballer’s super-injunction in this city but it can be hard to sift through the bullsh!t to find a genuinely foodie establishment. One of the best things about 10 Greek Street is its unfaltering unpretentiousness. Oh, and the food. And the wine. Luke Wilson has pulled together an exciting wine list, and Cameron Emirali, ex-Wapping Project (serious foodies nod knowingly), brings in seasonal, comforting but unpredictable combinations to lead you into temptation. The squid and chilli ristotto nero was subtle yet flavoursome, the burrata, light, citrus and creamy. My pork fillet was bravely pink and tender, and not too sides-heavy, leaving space for a salted caramel and chocolate tart. Say no more. You can’t book, but the pub next door can look after you while you wait, unlike other places that cram you in, peering at those trying to enjoy their dinner. / Esther Barney
