I stumbled across this little joint on a cold evening in January as I trawled the streets of London looking for a place to live. Adana greeted me the way a brew house greeted medieval travellers back in the day with promises of warming food and pleasant surrounds. The décor and atmosphere is decidedly Turkish, the main eating area has a rather interesting faux wood structure in the corner but it’s the grilled meats I’m really about; the meat is as varied and as finely cooked as Mangal (Arcola). There’s enough on the chicken platter for two and the mezzes are of a great standard. What’s more its opening hours are impressive, meaning it’s the perfect place to hang out with some mates long into the night. For a fiver you can take your own bottle of booze, or better still, get stuck into some raki with the locals. / Firas Waez
