Toast the end of dry January and ease into wetter February with purveyors in ‘medicinal’ drinking, Behind This Wall. Their new basement bar lies between Bethnal Green and Clapton, and if there is such a thing as a health conscience cocktail menu, this might be it. Developed by head-bartender Alex Harris, the menu explores the concept of ‘medicinal mixology’ – high quality ingredients and no artificial additives, high fructose corn syrup and unnecessary sugar. The gin-based ‘French 75’ is a delight, and there’s a selection of wine, craft beer and cider for non cocktail lovers. Soak it up with the raw-bar food menu of Hawaiian poke bowls and oysters (£1 during happy hour). Late-night grooves and crafted cocktails. Cheers to that.
