Nestled halfway down Stoke Newington’s Green Lanes is majestically nostalgic new pub Be-Bop-A-Lula. If the name itself didn’t clue you in, one peek into the cosy interior, lovingly decked out with retro neon signs, acoustic guitars, and vintage lighting, posters, and artwork and you’ll know instantly: this is a heartfelt shrine to 50s rock-n-roll Americana. Opened by the team behind the popular movie-themed Alma pub, this lively and lovable new watering hole also features a real Wurlitzer jukebox, slot machine, and more intriguing knick-knacks than you’d find in a car boot sale of Elvis’ basement. Gleefully pun-filled, the menu features classic American diner food including The Hound Dog hotdog, the Be-Bopa-Burger, made from aged Scottish beef, BB King Ribs, and the Fats Domino Pizza – as well as tasty roasts on Sundays. With plenty of live music on offer too, this is one place that’s sure to rock around the clock (well, most of it). (Sorry. There had to be one.)
