Teas from £3.25

Coffee bars are, like, sooo passé. As an extremely forward-thinking beverage drinker, I’m looking to south-east Asia to guide me. And, from now on, it’s only bubble tea in my cup. Forget a mere flavoured syrup… In bubble tea bars, you choose tea that can be any flavor you like, hot or cold, with chewy little tapioca balls suspended in it that you suck up through a straw. In London, it’s been available in some Chinese restaurants, but Bubbleology is the first dedicated bubble tea bar to open in the capital. And I can tell I’m going to become addicted to their new range of milk teas. If you don’t want to stray too far from the norm, try hot, milky ginger. If fruity’s your thing, you can’t go wrong with refreshing white peach. Or experiment, and try a matcha-based hot tea with honeydew melon. Soon, we’ll all be saying, “cappu-what?” / Sara Lou
