Black House, or Casa Negra as they might say in Mexican, is a fun new beach bar in the former Great Eastern Dining Room. Concepted by Serge Becker (the man behind New York’s La Esquina and The Box) and London restraunteur Will Ricker, this relaxed Shoreditch eatery offers a mix of  Mexican classics and innovations across the drinks and food  menus. We happily slurped the Paloma – a delicious, refreshing long drink livened by homemade grapefruit soda, and the Strongarm a sort of Mexican spritz with Tequila, Aperol and Orange sherbet. Amongst the food that followed were incredible tacos and esquites (corn salad with chipotle), then Mos Def strolled passed as we were tucking into the signature chile relleno dish. I am pretty sure I overheard him say, ‘you wouldn’t need to force feed me that!’… but that was after drinking numerous tequila based cocktails. Check it out before it becomes a celeb hangout.
