Flesh and Buns is bringing Hirata buns to Covent Garden, courtesy of the folk behind the equally kinkily named Bone Daddies. These taco shaped, deliciously sweet and sticky soft white pillowy dough vessels are served ready to load with cargo: flesh. Slow cooked pork belly and lamb shoulder, flat iron steak and duck, each with their own handmade pickles and sauces. The rest of the menu (and the interiors) look towards Japan with small plates of sashimi, maki rolls and yakitori served at long communal tables. Classic desserts are doused with yuzu, matcha and shochu and the extensive sake, Japanese whisky and cocktail list emphasise the bar come diner styling. And, wait for it…you can actually book a table. Goodbye queues of starvation. /Jess Fagin
