Balham’s newest addition sticks to its tried-and-tested formula: top meat from the Ginger Pig, classic cocktails and pleasantly large interiors.
It’s no suprise that the Rib-eye here is heartbreakingly delicious. The real dark horse though, is the ricotta dumplings, girolles and butternut squash, hiding in the middle of the menu making little noise but blowing all other dishes completely out of the water – light, fluffy and delicately seasoned. The burrata starter is another vegetarian top choice.
And the weekend brunch offering looks promising too. As it gets colder outside, your appetite for queueing for what locals argue is the best breakfast around, just across the street from Foxlow, will likely subside. This will be your best bet.
