Seared butterfish sashimi so soft it melts like butter. Hamachi carpaccio so punchy it clears the sinuses. Volcanic magma stones so hot they cook your dinner for you. There’s a lot to be said for Angel’s Japanese gem and its DIY-grills but when the food’s this fresh, flavourful and fun who has time for talking? We’re still salivating over the tuna hotstone (that’s your personal sizzling granite slab) complete with a tasty homemade sauce; meanwhile the octopus, prawn and salmon bibimbap is a great discovery. And yes – we’re coming back for the crunchy signature maki rolls.
