The  House of Wolf in Islington is a style-conscious offering for fashionable folk about town. It describes itself as “a multi-functional, multi-sensory experimental pleasure palace” – and this wolf doesn’t believe in restraint. The restaurant, which features a different pop-up chef each month, pays homage to the theme of sensory foodie exploration. House of Wolf has a ‘Resident Professor’ Charles Spence, Head of the Cross Modal Laboratory at Oxford University who works to make food more ‘multi-sensory’. Meanwhile, upstairs in the Apothecary bar you can sample experimental cocktails from master mixologist Steve Quinton and drink them from a vase – presumably to heighten the experience of their ‘experimental’ character. A menu of other pleasures includes literary salons and creative workshops and weekly cabaret and burlesque showcases. If you love culinary tomfoolery, book now. / Katie Glass
