Admittedly, I was a bit cynical when I first visited Pho. Having spent time in Vietnam, and even more time shifting tables at a Toronto Vietnamese restaurant, I wondered if this elegantly designed, London eatery – owned by English people – could actually cut the mustard? Well, it took the one steamy bowl of their lush bún bò Huế, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Owners Jules and Stephen are not only super lovely, actually, but hell bent on ensuring their kitchens are staffed well and delivering to the high expectations Londoners have come to have about their Vietnamese. On visiting the recently opened Pho Spitalfields, we devoured the pork meatballs – with their crisp exterior and lovely herby bite as well as the morning glory starter, which is all salt/pepper squid without the deep-fried seafood angle. Yummo. It’s great for dinner, takeaway, and lunch too.  So go, mo-Pho. / @chloe_lecool
