Sarona is celebrating new executive chef Aviv Lavi whose Middle Eastern food is known to cross boundaries. The careful menu exhibits flavours from Israel, Morocco, Palestine, Greece and Turkey. Think authentic houmous, rich creamy labneh, and Palestinian cheese dishes to start you off, then flavourful charred cauliflower, sea bass or chicken to leave you feeling satisfied. The wines reflect the same mix of influence, with Israeli wines dotted amongst the classic French and Italian, and some of the beers hail from Jerusalem. The decor is warm and relaxing, and while it’s hot you can grab a cute table outside – perfect for watching the people of Clerkenwell mosey about.
