This cute neighbourhood café is a hidden gem amongst Islington’s many chain restaurants and posh pubs. Just a short walk away from Highbury & Islington station it feels worlds away from the hustle and bustle of Islington high street and Upper Street – it’s the kind of posh, relaxed vibe that you associate with Islington, while the reality usually represents a stagger from wetherspoons to Slim Jim’s at 1am. And boy is it refreshing.
The restaurant is a small but breezy open space, which serves simple small plates all-day-long, from millennial brunch staple avocado on toast (mashed, with chili, of course) and warming toasties (ideal on a hangover) through to charcuterie and cheese boards in the evening.
With a fine wine list to boot, it’s a lovely way to spend an evening of indulgence – sipping on a glass of your preference and nibbling on some manchego and garlic and pepper-infused salami.
