Poutine has well and truly landed in London. It’s about time. We talked about the Quebecois delicacy, concocted from fries, gravy and melted cheese curds, back in May with the discovery of this little stall in The Schoolyard Market off Broadway. Since then, (actually before then) Torontonian, Paul Dunits has been quietly building an empire with his Brick Lane stand The Poutinerie and now permanent residence, Stacks, in Dalston’s Birthdays. The restaurant sits above the popular music venue offering a range of poutine iterations including smoked bacon and sour cream, pulled pork and our fave, the cheeseburger poutine. Perfectly matched with a fun selection of boozy cocktails and buffalo wings, Stacks’ poutine is an ideal tummy liner for a big night out east.
