Ace Hotel is doing it East side with Hoi Polloi dining, Square Mile Coffee and That Flower Shop. Out West, in a quiet Notting Hill street, three siblings are combining hospitality and floristry for a fresh take on seasonal and natural eating. Aside from the pretty bouquets and artfully arranged floral décor, this space is light and playful, with solid rustic tables and bright yellow chairs mixed with witty curios such as three top-hat shaped pendant lamps. The laid back noshing is a gentle balance of comfort and elegant staples, think bacon sarnies for breakfast and salmon ceviche followed by sea bass, celeriac puree and caramelised fennel for supper. There’s a short and sweet wine list, carefully selected to complement the food, as well as fresh juices, Allpress coffee and Birchall tea.Prettily packaged artisan Greek honey and oils by Oliveology, as well as hand-made jams from Bermondsey’s England Preserves, tempt you on the way out.
