It’s Sunday afternoon and I’m hanging, desperately searching for the reset button. But, as my headache slowly eases and the pouring rain outside subsides ever so slightly, it seems there’s a better solution. I head down to Brixton Village: pleasantly empty, chilled air massaging my battered temples. And I wander straight into Chicken heaven. It’s been a long time coming. This posh fried chicken shop Wishbone, inspired by Southern American food with double fried Korean variants and chilli coated Thai thighs on the menu, fits in well with the Brixton Village scene.  Simply put, it’s good old fried chicken gone bourgeois, with prizes to match and no battery-farmed birds in sight. And there’s a pretty impressive cocktail list – if you need a pick-me-up before the finger licking gets serious. / Farah Dib
