The city sibling to Stokie’s Wolf, Wolf II’s home is Broadgate piazza. Run by owner Antony Difrancesco and head chef Mattia Antonioni (Polpo, The Ivy) its seasonal menu offers all-day dining, with takeaway breakfasts, pasta lunches, and perhaps most excitingly, a post-work aperitivo in the sun.
As expected there’s a big focus on freshly made pasta, with simple, tasty dishes where the ingredients speak for themselves. Both the Pici (with three Italian cheeses, black pepper and shaved truffle) and gnocchi (crisped in burnt butter with vegetables in a white truffle cream) were exquisite. And then there’s the polenta Cake. The soft, delicate, slightly orangey, slightly minty, polenta cake, with amaretto cream. Try it alongside one of their botanical-infused cocktails… and relax.
