How much?

My friend, a man who has to wear a suit by day to day asked for a catch up recently. Always a pleasure, except this time he suggested Mayfair. I shuddered at the prospect of being in central London, not least for the potentially extortionate prices. The carrot he dangled before my eyes was that this place was an Argentine eatery. He knows how much of a sucker I am when propositioned with the potential of eating like a Porteno. Safe to say Zoilo delivered the goods – a real find in London. Many places do steak with an Argentine theme, and do it well, but this place offered some excellent and authentic alternatives such as amazing gratins, tasty empanadas and grilled cheeses all from their rather cool open kitchen. The red wine was the best I’ve tasted in ages, and it wasn’t half as expensive as I thought it was going to be, working out at a tenner for a decent slab of meat. Firas Waez
