One outrageously good line-up is coming your way. I don’t think you’re ready for this jelly…

For those of you who have never heard of Afropunk – better emerge from your crevices now. Afropunk is an annual and vibrant multi-cultural festival championing art, music, film and skate. Brooklyn hosted the first Afropunk festival back in 2005, inspired by a cult classic film of the same name which spotlighted Black Punks in America. Since then, the festival has expanded to other cities including Atlanta, Johannesburg, Paris, and as of last year, London. Now representing a wealth of genres from neo soul to grime and electronic; Afropunk’s a celebration of blackness, diversity and inclusivity across the arts – it’s impossible not to get swept up by the festival’s magical ball of energy.

This year, Afropunk is taking place in the East London’s Printworks and as far as locations go, they don’t get better…Acts spicing up your Saturday will include: The Internet, JME, Little Simz and Nadia Rose. Meanwhile, Thundercat, Lianne La Havas, NAO and Willow Smith will make you want to rep your Sunday best. Collectives such as gal-dem and Born n Bread will be amping up the feel-good vibes. Add in skate, design, fashion, food and art offerings into the mix and you’ve bagged yourself an unbeatable weekend. You can thank us later…
