Well this is an event of milestones. It is, we’re told, the ‘first opera to have its premiere in a cinema’, its the 10-year anniversary of the wonderful Streetwise Opera – bringing money (and hope) to homeless people through music and opera – and it’s certainly the first time a Gavin Bryars’ penned piece featuring a cast of 120 homeless people has featured in le cool. The interactive nature of the story looks cool too – the venue will be transformed into a vast work conference with clipboards and lanyards and the audience will be encouraged to join in with the tunes and ‘conference anthems’. Should be the funnest work event ever.
