Summer: the whimsical season of mirth, mischief, and darling headdresses. Don’t be deceived by this poor excuse for one that’s left you resembling a sodden paper bag – Art Macabre and The London Loom have been stashing of all of summer’s vim and vigour behind Hackney Downs Studios’ doors.
On Thursday they’re hooking up to bring you a DIY Frida Kahlo craft night, where you can make a show-stopping ‘morte couture’ headdress, inspired by the Mexican surrealist’s badass style and authentic design. Fill your mitts with pompoms; get funky yarn braiding and amp up your cactus customisation for serious Kahlo vibes. Then be smug AF when googly-eyed, love-struck festival goers beg you to tell them where it’s from *blushing*.
You’ll not only leave with a quirky masterpiece that would have made Frida feel all the feels, but it’s B.Y.O.B session guaranteed to get those creative juices flowing – just like the session’s sizzling Latina jams. So splash on your most artistic unibrow, chant ‘viva la vida’ and tango across to The London Loom to get your fix of Frida. All materials which be provided in the class, and did we mention there would be tequila shots for all you ravenous creatures? Salud!
