Satisfy your sweet tooth and make the calories count at Old Spitalfields Market this Saturday. Following the success of #BakeForSyria’s initial launch earlier this year, the charity bake-off will hold a second fundraiser with all proceeds going to the #CookForSyria Unicef campaign. Award-winning Clerkenwell Boy and Lily Vanilli, founder and Old Spitalfields Market trader, have organised the event and brought together an impressive roster of contributors. Renowned Bread Ahead, Fatties Bakery and Dominique Ansel are amongst the participating bakeries, alongside 2013’s Great British Bake-Off winner, Frances Quinn, Ottolenghi’s baker Helen Goh and more. Many of the markets kitchens, including Ceviche, Dumpling Shack and Rok, will be partaking by serving up Syrian-inspired variations of their dishes. Indulge with a cause and make the world a slightly sweeter place.
