We hear so much about the negative impact of fashion and art on the environment, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Botanical Inks, run by botanical and mineral designer Babs Behan, are organising a number of workshops that teach people how they can use colour producing plants and a variety of dye and print processes to create sustainable textiles and art. They are bringing their ‘alchemical natural dye experience’ to the Ace Hotel, and participants will be using a contemporary “bundle-dye” technique, to extract colour from flower petals, plant materials and recycled juice waste to create dreamy patterns on silk. Pretty, natural, environmentally friendly and healing.
