When I think of Christmas in London, I think of ice skating. That was until I tried it last year: all that cold ice and terrifying blades left me hankering for a pair hotpants and a set of wheels. Thankfully BUMP is here to save the festive season with a 10-week residency at the Southbank Centre’s Christmas Markets! Opening with a bang and a butt wiggle this Friday night, the pop-up haven for rollergirls and boys will be open every single day (aside from Christmas and NYE) until 22nd January. The line-up on Fridays and Saturdays features guest spots from some of London’s best DJs and club nights, including the legendary Ashley Beedle, Horse Meat Disco fave Severino, and takeovers from the likes of Clam Jam and Dalston Superstore. This Friday, ease yourself into your skates with a libation from the Discoball Bar, which is serving the rather wonderful sounding hot caramel cider, just in case you need a pre-skate confidence booster.
