While we usually try to bring you joyful, charming events to break up the humdrum of your monotonous existence, sometimes we all have to be a bit more serious and open our eyes to what is going on around us. Join Choir with No Name and the Streetwise Opera for songs and readings at a commemoration service for all of the people affected by homelessness who have silently passed on, without so much as a toast to their good name. A chance to acknowledge the lives and deaths of these unique and gifted people. Sadly the average life expectancy for homeless men is 47 and women is 42, and with budget cuts to charities, social housing and mental health/addiction services those stats may well get worse. If you’re in the area Thursday you could do worse with your lunchtime.
