Last year we raved about Conflict Cafe: the pop-up canteen featuring food from areas involved in violent conflict, which sought to widen understanding and bring funds to some of the most difficult places on earth to live. This year the setting is The House of Vans in the underground tunnels of Waterloo and the food is Burmese. Cordelia Peel of dining concept, Bagan, will be cooking a sharing dinner featuring the best dishes of Myanmar but what we like most about Conflict Cafe is the sense of communal adventure. Strangers and experts bond over discussion and everyone goes home, full, happy and educated.
