Christmas drinking season is in full swing now, and, since you’ll be pummelling the booze or the majority of the month, you may as well treat yourself to the good stuff every once and a while.
You’ll find it at the Bloomsbury Club Bar, a cosy little nook underneath the swanky hotel, just a quick step away from Covent Garden.
The mixologists here have teamed up with Irish gin and whiskey purveyors Dingle to create a few special, festive cocktails, which will make for a nice change from mulled wine. There’s the Baby, It’s Cold Outside (the song may be cancelled, but the drink is not), a mix of pear cider, gin and Christmassy spices which comes warm (it’s delicious, and definitely the one to go for if you’re nursing a Christmas cold) and the All I Want for Christmas, a take on an Irish coffee with nutmeg and cinnamon syrup.
They really are top end cocktails, and while they’re not cheap, they won’t burn a hole in your wallet the way some of the high-end cocktails in the area can.
