A night immersed in the soundtrack to David Lynch’s mind sounds haunting and delicious, eerie and ethereal. And that very experience is going to be brought to life by an ensemble spanning talents from bands such as Tindersticks, Villagers and Savages, assembled and led by musical director David Coulter, returning to the Barbican following his previous successes, Beck: Song Reader Live and Rain Dogs Revisited. David Lynch himself says, ‘Sound is almost a drug. It’s so pure that when it goes in your ears, it instantly does something to you’, so what will an evening of mainlining pure David Lynch do to you? That’s anyone’s guess. But this is one surreal journey through sound which I won’t be missing.
