It’s not every day that a London club night turns 21. In fact, very few ever make it into double digits. But its very safe to say Duckie is no ordinary club and “South London’s Premier Homo Lesbo Lotto” are planning on having no ordinary birthday. Upping sticks from their regular abode at Vauxhall’s lovely RVT, they are going all glam with what promises to be a mega night at the Electric Brixton. Headed up by London’s new Night Czar, the divine Amy Lamé, all the usual faces will be there (Scary Mary on the door and the Readers Wives behind the decks) plus some spectacular performance from Tap Cats, Access All Areas, MisSa Blue, The Lipsinkers, Mazury and Black Elvis. This extraordinary mix of fire-breathers, OAP tap dancers and drag queens is pretty much exactly how I wish I’d celebrated my 21st birthday.
