Composer/Producer Seth Scott has teamed up with artists from Hannah Bruce & Co to create an interactive “audio journey” allowing you to explore and enjoy the spaces inside the Barbican from new and different perspectives. Art, technology and architecture come together in an extraordinary way to bring one of London’s best examples of Brutalist design to life. The team have cleverly used iBeacons (location-based, Bluetooth transmitters) which connect to the free Edgelands audio app delivering contextual content as you move around the foyers. There is no set path so journeys can take 30 to 90mins depending on how lost you get. You’ll need the Edgelands App (IOS here) or Android here) and a good pair of headphones is recommended. If you’re a bit of a Luddite, smart devices and headphones can be borrowed from the Barbican store – although this may not be for you.
