This Sunday Ernest are hosting a lunch to celebrate Hackney and raise awareness of the great work being done in the community.
As a food solidarity network, Ernest connects restaurants, diners and local charities. Alongside the traditional service charge they introduce a ‘solidarity tax’ which supports local food charities – you eat, they eat. They’ve raised a whopping £5000 since their first initiative last October.
Sunday’s afternoon of food, music and fun will act as a meet and greet – and eat, for locals. They’ll be food from Kitchen Rituals, The Hackney Migrant Centre, a BBQ from the Tuck Inn canteen and dessert from Spitalfields Crypt Trust, who run Paper Cup in Shoreditch. With live music as well, it’s sure to be an afternoon of good vibes.
