I don’t like crowds. I don’t like camping. Not too keen on mud. Definitely don’t like queuing for the loo. So… I’m not a natural festival-goer. I went to V98, got practically drowned watching Ian Brown. When talk of Glastonbury comes around, I’ll ignore it or mumble something about work, but the truth is, dull as it might make me, I just don’t think they are for me. However, I love FIELD DAY. I go every year. Because I can go home at the end. I don’t mind that I’m the only one not wearing Ray-Bans because I get to sleep in my bed when it’s over. It’s a really great line up again this year with Daniel Avery, East India Youth, Telemann, Holden, Jessy Lanza, SBTRKT and Lo-Fang all on the must-see list. Properly looking forward to Metronomy too and if it’s nice and sunny, they are the perfect way to end the Saturday. For Sunday, it’s got to be Future Islands, who if reports are to be believed (and their Letterman appearance corroborating such), are simply incredible live.
