Look I know the countryside is pretty and all that, and that small towns can have thriving art scenes but it’s events like this that make me remember why I choose to live in this city. A sprawling, not-for-profit queer-fest that takes in a whole host of east London’s best venues and stuffs them full of provocative, rarely seen gems. It’d take far more space than we have here to even cover the highlights but suffice it to say that any festival that programmes a Derek Jarman meditation on AIDS and death next to a quote-along of Mean Girls is casting its net far and wide. Art exhibitions and music wrap each night up – this is a must-see celebration of a festival.
