Information wants to be free, and thanks to the internet it usually is, but what about something structured into formal education? A new effort that fosters free digital-learning now offers students worldwide access to top-tier courses from the likes of Harvard and MIT. Pioneered by two Google researchers at Stanford, and encouraged by growing demand, Massively Online Open Courses (MOOCs) are proliferating, opening up opportunities for institutions and students alike. Future Human will explore the implications of this movement at their latest salon event where the concept of Zero Education will be discussed by special guests Nicola Dandridge (Universities UK), Andrew Bollington (University of London) and Patrick McAndrew (Open University).
