Gaming and clubbing might not sound all that compatible, but whatever the critics may say, video games are inherently social. GamerDisco is a monthly club night of retro-gaming revelry aimed at reminding you of the days when “multi-player” meant sharing a screen or going to an arcade, with the games ranging from arcade cabinets to large projections of classics like Smash Bros, MarioKart and Street Fighter. Warm up your thumbs but don’t forget your dancing shoes, as DJs will be spinning music from gaming themes and chiptune, through to electro and hiphop. The night welcomes first-timers and veterans alike, so even if you take a “mash the buttons and hope for the best” approach (like me) you’ll still have a blast. If all else fails, you can always insist on some sort of shot-based handicap for your opponents.
