Self driving cars and drone delivered burritos are a bit of a thing these days, but we should really be celebrating the robots that help keep us alive. Robots have been assisting with complex surgery for nearly 20 years, and for the first time, the Science Museum is presenting an opportunity to see man-and-machine in action. Not any man, nor any machine, as Lord Professor Ara Darzi will take the controls of the very same da Vinci Surgical System he used to perform the UK’s first robotic operation – the only difference will be a surgical mannequin taking the spotlight. The operation, hosted by Professor Roger Kneebone, will be followed by a Q&A session, and is for ages 18+.
