Autumn is here and with it, all the dishes we’ve dreamt of hunkering down with through that long-ago heatwave. And new gastropub The Hero of Maida is wasting no time by dedicating a whole evening to our favourite bird: duck. With five courses each designed and prepped by a different London chef, it’s a real flight of fancy. A sneak beak of the dishes include Alex Jackson of Sardine’s duck offal, bread and bacon brochette, Kricket’s Will Bowlby serving up his Mumbai take on the bird and Oli Brown of Brixton’s Duck Duck Goose showing off his signature Cantonese style roast. Ducked out? Don’t panic – restaurateur and chef Henry Harris is on dessert duty with crème caramel with Armagnac soaked prunes. If you’re a Maida Vale local, a Bakerloo Line resident or even just a mega mallard fan, waddle your way West for the chance to try some pretty starry chefs serving up some pretty quacking dishes.
